that aside interesting fact, despite being Irish and born in Dublin, as Dermot Galleghar was registered to the FA, he was permitted to take charge of a Rep of Ireland game.

He moved to England when he was very young so was always considered an English referee despite his place of birth. Jared Gillett is different as he has spent his entire refereeing career in Australia before moving to England. I'm pretty sure I am right in saying that, apart from that international friendly, Dermot has never refereed in Ireland.
