The Referee Store
Love MDs persona, can’t beat a bit of charisma and something different. Had his daft decisions days but don’t we all.. Sad when he leaves for RADA and the pantomime baddy

He certainly likes to be part of the game, I do think he shows he is rattled a bit too much in overly psychical games, but overall he is still one of the best in the country and his fitness/body shape is a credit to himself. Never scared to do something unpopular and I hope he is around for a few seasons yet.

Why would he when he is still one of the best performing officials, even if he isn't everyone's cup of tea?

Jones and Swarbrick quit, no other SG1 referees did that I am aware of.

I'm sure last season someone posted on here that he wanted to retire before 17/18 but was persuaded not to because of the lack of top class referees.

That's where I got it from.

I was looking at the ages of the SG1 refs and came across something interesting. There's not a single ref aged 40 to 44 in the Premier League this year. There's a four to five year gap where the FA failed to develop more than one SG1 ref (Clatts is 43). So instead of having a bunch of refs in the peak of their career, you have nine SG1 refs over 45 and nine under 40. Very strange.
