That’s how you take Creatine powder, right?Don't we all do a bit of 'marching powder' to get us through games?
I don't think it takes a great leap to reach the conclusion that someone doing coke on their own in a hotel room whilst in the middle of a hugely important work trip has a problem. It also opens up a whole new bunch of suspects who might have an interest in leaking the films, including betrayed, slighted or aggrieved friends, partners and colleagues...The fact he lets people film him in these situations suggests that he’s either extremely arrogant that the thinks he’d get away with it. Or he’s fairly vulnerable and trusts people a bit too much.
I’m hearing that there’s more stuff to come yet as well. But not confirmed.
It's kind of irrelevant whether it was at the Euros, in the US or in the UK, and whether it was before a match, during a tournament or whilst on holiday. The initial video on it's own was probably gross misconduct that could justify summary dismissal after an investigation, though it made sense to some degree to cling on to try and negotiate a payment. This second one - and if there are two, there are probably others given the level of risk taking involved - puts the nail in the coffin. That said, a settlement agreement is the only way they can make sure he doesn't tell any secrets...Seems a bit strange he's using a US dollar note in Germany though. With social media these days I really don't believe anything until it is 100% proven to be true
I suspect this, if genuine, will result in him quitting before being sacked, as there would be no coming back from it.
I'd want at least 50gThat said, a settlement agreement is the only way they can make sure he doesn't tell any secrets...
Almost certainly, accompanied at some point by some formal, independent review that will conclude (hopefully) that referees are being subjected to an unfair and untenable level of abuse and scrutiny.I wonder if this means compulsory drug testing for officials
If they were owned by Paddy Power they'd be rebranded as Ref Gear by tomorrow. The Ref Stop's 'Gear up for the Game' tagline suddenly takes on a whole new meaning.
He was VAR support official I believe during the EurosOn a serious note, you do have to worry about his potential mental health state. Both from a point of view of how he was when these videos were made, along with now.
If it’s true that it was during the Euros, I didn’t realise he was participating in the tournament.
I get that it doesn't look good wherever he was, although it is far from clear it is Coote from that video. My point is more the article says that he was doing it in a hotel room in Germany paid for by UEFA, hence my comment around using a US dollar being strange. The video also appears to show a charger plugged into a socket flush to the wall, you'd expect an English referee in a European hotel to be using an adapter (although accept it may not be his room). It's kind of irrelevant whether it was at the Euros, in the US or in the UK, and whether it was before a match, during a tournament or whilst on holiday. Whilst I admire your 'keep an open-mind' stance, @RustyRef I find it implausible that The Sun would publish the video (together with their logo watermarked over the top of it) unless they were absolutely 100% sure it was him and rock solid with their sources.I get that it doesn't look good wherever he was, although it is far from clear it is Coote from that video. Guess the point I'm making is not everything is as obvious as it immediately seems.
