Blades v Man Utd

The Referee Store
If my eyes were removed I'd still see the foul.
Quite astonishing the AR and ref didn't think that was a foul.
Lundstrom's awful challenge wasn't deemed worthy of a caution either.

My god though Rashford is the most overpaid player in world football.
He is barely premier League quality and is stealing a living!

Don't think there's a case for a foul on Jones at all. He's just a very clumsy defender.

Think VAR right to allow the goal at the end. You couldn't really conclusively tell either way.

Immensely proud today to probably out-football one of the biggest clubs in the world for 72 minutes. We'll tell our grandchildren we were there to witness Barcelona B! A team of ragtag journeymen footballers out on their knees after 96 minutes after sweating blood and guts for the Blades cause. Marriner was his usual 4/10 performance, missed a few cards for both teams. Euphoria at the end, never been HB in the memory of man!! ;)

He looked like a rabbit in headlights, Mousset is a beast and knows how to jump into defenders and has pace to burn! Game changed when he went off

I think watching live well on TV you're waiting for a whistle for the opening goal (thats not to say its a foul but they're usually given)

I dont think anyone can 100% be clear if the goal at the end was hand ball or not.

For me, any decently objective view has to conclude that it was a clear foul on Jones for that first goal. No doubt about it.

As for the VAR "no handball" decision I was surprised at that too, given what we've seen with similar scenarios so far this season. Call me an old cynic but I'm guessing that had this been a cup final or perhaps if the goal had been a "winning one" then the decision reached would have been different.

Have to 100% disagree with that synopsis..... Fair shoulder charging is completely legal and it hits mcBurnies point of the shoulder!!! I'd cut back on that Scrumpy if I was you @Kes ;)

The only lack of consideration I saw in the challenge for the first goal was the lack of consideration for Jones's feelings when he lost the ball.

Just fuelling the myth you can do whatever you want with your shoulder under a cry of "shoulder charge"!
Utd deserved to lose but the foul on Jones is so obvious it's comical.
Also Id be interested to hear what Utd cautions were missed?

Anyway, let's not get away from the main point. Utd are awful are Solkjaer is clueless

Nothing wrong for me, Mousset was just stronger and it was rank bad defending by Jones. He'd actually had a few soft free kicks given in his favour in the few minutes running up to the goal after he'd been bullied off the ball, so I would say his luck ran out.

I've watched the replay for the final goal time and time again and I still don't know if it his McBurnie's arm. VAR will be the same, so they have to give the goal, rightly so.

Hmmm, I said 'Fair Shoulder Charge' which, as you should know, is perfectly acceptable..... and it was!!!! and you're right, he's clueless!!

Nowt to do with being "stronger".
The bloke charged straight into him from behind and side-on as he was about to clear the ball. Never mind how crap Jones is or how bad Man Utd were, that was a foul on him every day of the week, made worse by the fact that Sheffield United scored almost directly from it. If that'd been my team it happened to I'd be livid ...
