Tierney foul on Ings for the penalty, should that have been red instead of yellow?

Pulls Ings back preventing him from reaching the ball. Not an attempt to play the ball which the law change was intended for, so is this another example of a shift in the default mindset? Or was it in the possible GSO category rather than obvious?

My immediate reaction is if it’s worth a card, then it’s red.

Ok am going to pick on you (again :) ) I think you mean if its DGOSO then it has to be a DOGSO-R and not DOGSO-Y. Because you can have a yellow card for SPA in the PA as well.

Having seen it now I think there was doubt in the likelihood of gaining control. I would not argue with a YC for SPA.
