It was - he also made sure there was no pressure before KO because the manager pointed him out to me and I spoke to him and asked for any advice he could give and he was very encouraging and didn’t get involved which some might when they know they are much better than others
 
Jon moss came to watch his son who was running my line a few years ago. Absolute top bloke, stayed behind to give me some great advice and again, a genuine nice guy.

As an aside, someone stole his cup final shirt from his shop in Leeds yesterday which I'm sure is devastating for him.

Yes - Marriner was very willing to give good advice

I saw that and it’s terrible - I hope it gets returned
