That handball from Fred look a bit suspect. He was making a point of putting his arms behind his back then suddenly move it towards the ball

Surely a pen?! Hands away and behind his back and then as the cross comes in he sticks his arm and and stops it.

No need to move his hands... How VAR have not awarded that as a penalty is questionable.

I agree but I guess the question is was it clear and obvious? Probably not

No pen for the handball.

Would have liked to see a caution for Ferdaninho's reaction to it though, dissent?

City fans not covering themselves in glory with the throwing of objects at Fred, or the alleged racist taunting.

Good that wasn’t it? First game I’ve watched in ages that didn’t involve “my” team. Might try more of this football lark, sounds a bit of a laugh.

Hopegully the idiots are banned and then some

No complaints about the result

AT was terrific

Putting your hands out to cushion a fall is about as natural as it gets.
If that's handball then let's just make all ball/hand contact a foul and be done with it

Doesn't the law change this year say that this is an offense? If it hits hands when sliding

Quite the opposite.
The law says it is not usually an offence if
• when a player falls and the hand/arm is between the body and the ground to
support the body, but not extended laterally or vertically away from the body

City fan here.

Had to watch it on delay as i was on a futsal course today. AT was very good imo. I think between he and the VAR team they got all the penalty decisions correct.

For those who say "City fans" didn't cover themselves in glory. Nonsense, there are racist morons in every fan base. It's our teams idiot who was spotted today and he will rightly be banned for life. But it's everywhere still in the game and it's there in all league's across the world.

With the number of objects thrown at Fred more than one person must have been involved, but I agree that only one person was making the racist gestures.

Taylor managed the game well, only gripe would be that Walker should have been cautioned when he cynically broke up an attack.

Oh yes, another one that looked obvious! It's exactly what walker was trying to do (stop a promising attack)

Rightly or wrongly, AT immediately said no caution and pointed that Lingard's touch was going towards the touchline. Commentators came to the incorrect conclusion that he said Walker got the ball (what)...
