    Stupid things players say #9,453

'But I touched the ball ref' yes you did I said, luckily for you otherwise I would have deemed it wreck-less, as it I deeming it careless, FK and get on with. Player comes up and the end and politely thanks me for explaining my decision, it made sense and he would consider that when he was...

    I was assaulted today...

i may be being naive here, why did the panel ask you about the severity of the push, what difference does it make, a push is a push isn't it? 3 games is joke

Throw in's, feet touching line or behind the line??

so feet can touch the line provided they do not enter the fop, or the heel can be on touching the line with the rest of foot on the field of play? :-)

Throw in's, feet touching line or behind the line??

U14's today, I'm coaching not refereeing, CAR gives foul throw for feet, I asked him politely why when there was a gap in play, we had a good chat about, I though feet touching was permissible, he thought feet had to be behind line, I told him he was CAR so go with his interpretation for the...

Impedance - Is it always clear cut

its a pen in my humble opinion, defender should have not been drawn in to be so tight, no red not a obvious goal scoring opportunity, still work to do, not even sure it would yellow, but probably.

    Really enjoyable game today!!!!!

Just wanted to share a positive experience! I did a vets league game today, top of table v 5th, great contest, contested physically but fairly, couple of firm words but no cards needed, this was my 2nd adult game, thoroughly enjoyable experience! felt like I relaxed more than in my first game...

    Intervention level

general moaning and appealing in the main, let one or two go, but only where I didn't believe it to be foul, just worried I have a high tolerance! I enjoyed the physicality of football when I played.:-)

An angry parent who spat twice in the face of a 16-year-old refere

Unbelievable, there's another ref lost because of unacceptable behavior, the law has to support the 99% of good people out there, its always a small element that grab the headlines. hope the young ref is ok, don't let them beat u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Intervention level

Hi all, newly qualified, ex player, I think that my level for physical contact may be to high, I done two games last week, one adult and one U18, everyone was appealing for FK for what I call general physical play, I'm concerned that if I start giving what I think are soft free kicks the game...

even the referees can't agree!lol good debate though. Southampton Saturday Football league is a respect league, and I understood, it is my responsibility to get the handshake done.
