The Spanish isn't that bad. It just has the same grammatical nonsense of a qualifying clause with no subject (a crossbar having been in an offside position).

I've found FIFA's videos released to explain the difference between deflection and deliberate play. Can anyone explain the explanation of why the following incidents are treated differently?

I can understand why this might be seen as deliberate (in that the defender may have intended the back header)

but why then is this defender's deliberate but misplaced kick judged as a deflection?

I seem to recall that being on one of the Offside DVDs and going into more detail but I can't easily find it.

I do recall that it fell under the "reactive" style play, as opposed to "active" (ie, deflected vs deliberate). Unfortunately, for me, that one doesn't meet most of the rest of the criteria FIFA put out to suggest such found here:

Back to square one. In the opinion of this referee, the defender deflects the ball to Vardy rather than properly plays it.

And any law with that many variables is a bad law.

Oh, you mean like deliberate handling?

Treat deliberate play the same way. "Did the ball hit the player, or did the player hit the ball?"
