Thought I would share my game today as I found it quite amusing..
Local league game under 18s .. I got appointed through my LRO from a Saturday. He said the team had poor discipline and I’m up for a challenge.
Game was absolutely fine. Turn up.. the pitch is awful, bobbly, grass different lengths and lines all over the place. One penalty spot is just a divot in the ground and a white X marked in the wrong spot and the other was non exsistent. (A good bit of advice a coach told me once was to always check the penalty spots as part of your inspection so you don’t get caught out when you have to give one!).
Game gets started suddenly I’m getting some light hearted stick from the touch line, turn round, three young lads drinking cans of fosters in the right Next to the home coach and subs
.. ask them to politely leave.
Good game no cards and very enjoyable. I guess the point of writing this is to say that you shouldn’t always judge a book by its cover low standard crappy pitch and historic poor discipline but it was very enjoyable!
