In a game on Sunday, after FT, an away team player comes up to me to complain that one of the home players (who came on for 5 minutes at the end) is wearing a skirt and to ask "how is that allowed?"
At the time I said it wasn't endangering anyone and was long enough (below knee) to function similar to shorts so it was fine. I now know this obviously isn't the case in law, shorts are mandatory equipment for players.
I messaged the manager of the home team asking about it to make sure it wasn't a problem in future. She says she is wearing shorts underneath and the skirt is for religious reasons (they have to cover the knee with skirts, it cannot be trousers or shorts visible).
Where on earth do I stand here?
