MASKING TAPE ON CARDS

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question. Who uses masking tape on their cards and if so, what is your layout? Experimenting is all

Cheers

I used to, but subsequently changed to the write on skins.

I'd put two strips of standard decorating masking tape onto the left and right side of the card, write the colours at the top of each strip and then just write the numbers as required. I'd do this with a Sharpie pop up marker clipped into my top pocket.

Don't know what level you are, but increasingly the FA are looking to stop "flashed cards" right up to level 2B, so if you are at or below those levels be careful. Observers really want to see you taking down the name, so write on cards may be less suitable in the current climate.

What's the idea behind the masking tape? Wouldn't that look a bit....ratty....when you're showing the card?
If you want to write on the card you can actually get write on cards.
In Australia we're fortunate enough to not have to write names, so I've used preformatted write-on cards, although I still bring a notebook in case there's an incident (eg OFFINABUS) where I need to write further notes.
