Grassroots assaults on the rise

The Referee Store
Thoughts?

6 a side?

Quite possibly an unaffiliated competition.....

The best bit is this:
Dermot Collins is the FA's Respect Manager and says, "At the moment these figures are up, and that's a concern. We need to be vigilant to make people aware of this problem, and make sure these numbers go down. We can't blame professional footballers because we don't see assaults in professional football. Grassroots football has to deal with this."

This one statement sums up why the RESPECT campaign is a complete joke. If the campaigns manager cannot recognise that the behaviour of our professional players does indeed have a direct influence on how grassroots players behave then i am not sure he is the right man for the job.
Granted, the pro players may not go around assaulting officials, but their attitude is generally anything other than respectful.....maybe if Rooney & co were walked the next time they give a foul mouthed tirade to a ref then people would start to take notice?
