Germany v Chile VAR

When does the football phrases.... strike (as in the striking of a football) become a stroke (ing of a football) or a caress of the football or the lashing of a shot, or a pile driver or a chip!!!. Isn't it something to do with the speed of the ferocity of the action, but essentially they are all the same thing really!!!!! I agree that there are levels of striking, all not good, and should be jumped on if seen as naughty but also dependant on my view of the actual intention as where i judge this a 'foul' or not as the case maybe...

[Remember that a strike by IFAB LotG definition is (essentially) to make contact with someone with arms, hands, head, etc
I stand corrected, you are absolutely right.:oops:

(Yet) another example of IFAB misusing words with commonly accepted meanings outside of the LOTG. But as they have done so, your example stands up just fine
