flipping coin

The Referee Store
I get the home captain to flip and away captain to call in air
I do the same. Despite me telling the Home captain to catch it they usually still let it hit the ground. Surprisingly no one ever calls "edges" because they'd probably win every time in January! Happened twice so far this month.

a few years ago i was doing the ayr international youth tournament, very prestigious tournament, we had a tiawanese under 14 girls team, first game the referee points to one side of the coin then his head, this nonsense took about two minutes. flips the coin tiawanese captain perfect english, heads please sir, priceless the refs face was brilliant we kept it up on him the whole weekend

If I see old pennies for sale I tend to stock up - they are usually about £1 for 10.

Mrs PP always helpfully points out to the stall holder that I'm a ref , and that's why I'm buying them.

You can almost see them thinking 'It would be cheaper to use modern 2ps"!
