I almost always bring my gear to any soccer match I attend. Whether it’s been for no shows, injury, or lack of scheduled officials, I’m generally called into service 2-3 times a year. I also have my gear with me on days I’m not scheduled to officiate, as I never know when I may get a 3 PM call asking if I can be somewhere at 6 or 7 to fill in.

I did laugh at the away manager's comment about it being the best officiating performance this year, and he thinks they should all have a curry and four pints before coming on

It makes me laugh every time I see an article about this, as they keep using a photo of the AR who didn't get injured!

Full story from the man himself, level 5 Sunday morning referee, 56 years old, didn’t have 5 pints as quoted but half a pint of IPA, interesting they checked his FAMOA with Hampshire FA. Ran the Pompey back line, no offsides to adjudicate on.

Fair play to Cheltenham for agreeing to a life long season ticket holder to take over!
