Completely agree, but on the same basis the observer shouldn't be putting something significant in the report that wasn't discussed in the debrief. Just as there are some poor referees operating there are also some poor observers.

I would only be allowing a different ball to be used at grass roots if the first ball was somehow lost. Would have to be one hell of a bad penalty to lose the ball, but suppose it could happen.

Not quite got him off the hook. The caution might not have counted as a second one, but it does count as a caution so he is now out of the semi-final for receiving three cautions. So at least some level of karma.

I vaguely remember it was related to encroachment becoming a mandatory caution, they were worried that KFTPM would become farcical with keepers getting sent off. Might be totally wrong on that though 😂

I always tell the candidates, at any level, that they can contact me if they need anything clarifying. If there have been situations with referees confronting observers you deal with those in isolation, not put a blanket ban in place.

Was this 5-4? As @Kes has said, you have limited options to challenge this. If the observer says you flashed cards, and you can't persuade him otherwise in the debrief, you flashed cards. No different to if he said you missed a penalty or a red card, that would be his opinion versus yours and...
