Those things need to be actioned by your RDO or whoever admins your promotion scheme (sometimes it's volunteers).
BCFA is Birmingham? Maybe give Kieran a phone call?
More than half the county FAs use a system I write to do referee promotion admin. There is a very considerable difference between them in terms of how switched on the RDO is and how many observers/coaches they have available. Getting two coaches out to the same referee in three months (the...
Once you've passed you'll be level 7. Professional referees are level 1.
7->6->5 can now be done in 6 months if you do a lot of games and have a co-operative RDO that gets you the observations you need (2 for each step). 5->4 takes a year, either a season or a calendar year. Each of the...
This must be faked. Here's the incident on Sky website:
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13085892/referee-error-before-liverpools-winner-at-nottingham-forest-causes-controversy-as-mark-clattenburg-speaks-out
This is absolutely not true. I haven't sin binned a player for more than two seasons and I promise you I am not letting dissent slide.
It helps that I've been refereeing in the same adult league for 10+ years so there are players on almost every team who "know" me.
I love sin bins precisely...
I explicitly tell ARs to keep the flag up if I haven't spotted it no matter how long it takes. If I'm playing advantage or overruling I will make it clear with a "lower the flag" sign. Eventually the players will tell me.
I know this referee. For some reason his games seem to constitute about half the clips I see from clubs claiming the officials are awful.
If you saw the one where the ref gives a handball because he thinks he's come out of the PA before releasing at at a fly kick, (he hadn't) that was him too.
It depends. It is sometimes helpful to address a player who has just told you to "**** off" immediately after a decision he doesn't like, pull his skipper in, and say "what do you think happens to a player who swears at the ref?" At which point you'll get "I wasn't swearing at you I was just ...
In the London area most adult leagues do not allow CARs. Most youth leagues insist on them.
Most CARs are football fan parents and know, or at least think they know, when a player is in an offside position, but can be hazy on when an offence has occurred. I prefer the CARs to give offsides...
Two quick tips for this. Before you point, shout "blue ball". That buys you time to get the direction right and everyone knows which way it's going. The worst thing about getting the direction wrong is players will get up in your grill for the terrible decision you just made, whereas having...
I gave a DFK 25 yards out. I tell the attacker to wait for my whistle. I count out 10 yards for the wall and a defender says "he's moved the ball". So I pace back out from the wall to the ball and the attacker has moved the ball forward 2 yards.
Caution for USB? Restart?
If Newcastle had requested a review of the penalty after it had been awarded and VAR decided not to intervene like it did yesterday Newcastle would be even more aggrieved than they are now. Not only have they conceded a penalty but they've used up one of their appeals.
The problem here is that...
You can determine that some of them charge a subscription but there is no way to tell how much of the marginal revenue they gain from having PL games is down increases in subscription revenue vs increases in advertising revenue.
The point is this: subscription-free does not mean revenue-free.
You've misunderstood Rusty.
I'm not talking about the proportion of Club's revenue that comes from TV. I'm talking about the proportion of TV companies' revenue that comes from subscribers (as opposed to advertising).
Since nearly half the PL's TV revenue comes from overseas TV deals who do...
