    Mass melee - fan footage

Well done there - good management from what I could see. Just one point though - when you first approached the situation you took a position next to the wall, no impact, but do be wary of going somewhere where you could get trapped - ie the mass con could have moved over to you and around you...

    Pre-Game Nerves

Advice I can give you to alleviate any nerves: 1) Plan and Prepare - have a decent meal Friday night, no booze, re-read the laws of the game, watch some football clips, read up on teams, then have a good sleep and good pre-match meal. Pack everything in your own time, including cleaning your...

    corner kick

All comments above are correct. Law does not dictate the whole ball, so only part of the ball will suffice. Similar scenario for penalty kicks, hence why this penalty kick from Robbie Keane was allowed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U5tC5XnNQV4YGvLA4FNr5ZVD0ig85M6-/view?usp=sharing

    Blood Pressure Tests

I also work in the city, and for the last few years have just been popping into a Lloyds Pharmacy to check my blood pressure (tonnes of them across London, and appointments can be booked online)

    Blood Pressure Tests

Correct. Ultimately, it needs to be from a doctor's surgery or pharmacy - either of which needs to stamp the blood pressure certificate. If you have a friend who has the equipment and/or experience, ultimately it only counts with that stamp.

    New names for refereeing levels

I do agree there has been some confusion across referees here. It is my understanding, and using Level 3 as an example, that Level 3 referees will still be called Level 3 referees. But instead of saying we are Contributory League referees, which often doesn't mean much to someone, we simply say...

    Promotion Letters Are Out

Interesting, just read about him. From refereeing Juventus to refereeing a contrib side. Crazy. But massive admiration to Claudio. Interesting to see why he was assigned as level 3 despite Series A experience?!

    Heads or tails

Think I'll be blunt here, absolutely no need for an electronic coin toss. If worried about losing the coin, use a 2p and/or give to your assistant to look after (if operating with assistants) Or like me, you might be rubbish at tossing a coin. I've been a referee for over 10 years and have...

    2020/2021 season registration. Wait?

Yes, all is sorted now. I work closely with an RDO of a major CFA, and we tested it out this morning and were able to register. Other referees in the county have been successful. If there are any technical issues, do flag to your RDO/RDM, who will escalate to FA IT.

Actually, scrap that, I now have the lists. Will share shortly.

    Promotion Letters Are Out

There won't be a list just yet - purely due to the options available at L3 to L2b - ie people getting promoted to L2b, but rejecting on the basis they are holding out for L3 Football League line. As a result, the list would no doubt be a work in progress whilst those conversations take place and...

    Promotion Letters Are Out

Nicely done Justy Love! As mentioned above - very much enjoy the good news with your friends, family, and refereeing colleagues. You've worked hard to get here, and have done so through merit, so you should be 100% proud of that. It's now time to realistically assess your goals and implement a...

    Simulation but not really simulation

One important lesson I learnt early on in refereeing is "no surprises". In this instance, his team mates are taking the p***, his opponents are taking the p***, you might as well join in and also take the p***; especially noting the temperature of the game with your firm control in place. That...

What would you have been doing this week?

Not sure what appointment I would have, because my last appointments in MOAS were from March. Although, I did have a course lined up I was tutoring on Sunday, so a shame that is obviously cancelled

Who are they talking about? 🤔

The PGMOL's stance was not decided through Mike Riley, rather through the Premier League themselves. The Premier League were eager on avoiding the use of the on-field monitor, for the reasons the media have reported - eg worrying that it would slow the pace of the game. Once media and fan...

    Some good news ...

I've been away from the site for a while, but have been reunited during lock-down. Great to see promotions happening! Congratulations to all - now time to push onto the next level if that aligns to your vision and where you want to go. If not, time to solidify and smash your new level!

    REFSCALL FLAGS

    1) They do indeed. You'll find something on the refereestore 2) Do yourself a favour and ditch them. Touchlines (my fav) or evrocoms are the way forward. Slightly more expensive, but you pay for the quality and durability.
