World Snooker Championship 2020: Fans expected to be allowed in for final https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/53771656 This is potentially positive news in relation to fans being allowed in to non league games. Step 5 & 6 league secretaries meeting with the FA on Monday evening - hopefully will...

    Post Lockdown games

I think there are 2 key issues that will determine whether a)leagues that have set the 5th Sept as the start date will be viable and b) how the season will progress - and that is, firstly, allowing spectators back into grounds from September at steps 3-6. Secondly, the impact that local...

Fitness Tests Step 6 and Above

I am in the same situation, have been told informally that county ones will be accepted but this has not been confirmed by the FA.

Be interesting to see what the review says on 15th August. If it gets put back another 2 weeks which is a real possibility with current infections rates I think that will all but end a September start - unless the FA can agree that steps 3-6 will be included in the ‘Pilots’ from September 1st...

    Refereeing guidance

You are right and I get that. Just concerns me that the FA stipulated from the start, and quite rightly, non league requires fans and with this postponement what sort of impact will this have on a September 5th start.

    Refereeing guidance

I can understand indoor arenas being postponed for the time being because transmission rate appears to be higher compared to outdoors. I still struggle to see why a step 5/6 club would not be able to have 200 spectators socially distanced around the ground. I think if the review on the 15th is...

    Refereeing guidance

Not going ahead with pilot events at sports ground including outdoor events - Goodwood and Cricket. I hope this changes for September 1st (proposed start date of FA Cup).

    Refereeing guidance

I think today’s press conference is concerning - particularly regarding the issue of having no fans at test pilots. This is surely going to impact the reintroduction of spectators throughout the NLS and the prospect of a September start for steps 3-6 must be under threat now. This coupled with...

    Champions League Final Referee

With the final stages of the Champions League being confirmed who do you think will be awarded the prestigious final. A bit of talk on social media of UEFA potentially going with Taylor if Man City/Chelsea are not in the final. I think he’s had a strong season and would certainly be a big coup...

    Match day 23&24

A couple of decent appointments for Pawson and Attwell. Also Darren England officiates his first EPL game. Be interesting to see how he gets on.

    Pitchside monitor finally used!

By Michael Oliver in the Palace-Derby game. After reviewing it MO reversed his initial YC to a RC. Good to see the monitor finally being used and hopefully a chance to how VAR is operated in this country. Will we see more of this in the premier league?

    New FIFA referees

Am I right I’m thinking that only Taylor and Oliver can officiate champions league games? The rest I see seem to get EL games? I’m a big fan of Kavanagh - think he has a very bright future. Pawson and Tierney are steady, Attwell hit and miss and haven’t seen enough of Madley and Coote. Oliver...

    Dissent offence of the ball

A player directs dissent towards you or your assistant referee and you decide to stop play. Does play restart from where the offence took place or where the ball was when play was stopped?

    7-6 first observation

Hi guys, I will be looking at attempting promotion next season possibly and have noted that my county FA require a written exam to be undertaken aswell as the 20 games. Is this common practice and would the exam be similar to the LOTG exam taken when training?

    Direct FK inside defenders area

Today in my game i awarded a DFK to the defending team within their own area. One of the defenders has taken the kick and passed it to the keeper (also within his own penalty area). I know the law states the ball is in play when it leaves the penalty area however does this only apply for...

    Advice on Wholegame

I submitted 2 cautions for the first time today on WGS. The tutor on my course suggested adding a sentence or two as to why the caution was issued however I saw no option to do this other than save the cautions and then submit the report. Can anyone help with this?
