To wall or not to wall... That is the question!!

In my experience it's only ever been in youth football has a wall been requested which I simply say if you want a wall you need to set it up but I'm not stopping play

    Sin bins

We had a friendly at the weekend with 2 step 5 teams but the Ref was a EFL Ref who would neither need to use or would be trained to use Sin Bins so guess what....... no sin bins its a friendly! if anyone oversteps the mark he'd just tell the manager to sub the player.

    Sin bins

Who told you that? I have been unable to attend a brief so emailed the FA who sent me a link to online training. You get a nice certificate at the end so again I emailed the FA to see where this goes and the response was nowhere needs it.

My intro,Finding matches in 'off season' and Random new ref Qs

If your committed it's not difficult! My back ground is Mon-Friday 8-5 Job so the commitment wasn't difficult. I played at a good level so fitness and understanding of the game wasn't difficult. Like I said you need to live and breath it, if you do it's not difficult! working weekends and...

My intro,Finding matches in 'off season' and Random new ref Qs

Ben, Double jumping is fine especially the 7-5 jump as the stranded you referee is very similar. I wouldn't recommend the 6-4 as I know a few referee's who struggled due to the leap in skill level. What I would say is to do the double jump and gain the experience you need to live and breath...

    Discussion of Law Changes

    Discussion of Law Changes

You’ve never seen a player stick a leg out to stop a quick free kick? That my friend is challenging for a “dead ball”

    Discussion of Law Changes

Out of curiosity then how would you have wrote the rule? I genuinely think they’ve wrote it well, easy to implement and understand but...........as with any rule players will manipulate it! I’m pretty sure we will get players trying to stop a quick goal kick, caution them! You’ll get players...

    Discussion of Law Changes

When the ball is played, simple. Your forgetting your role as a referee to tell the attacker to retreat as you would at a free kick.

    Discussion of Law Changes

Just don’t get too hung up on it. You know the rule so referee it.

    Discussion of Law Changes

I cant't believe how much debate this is causing, it's very simple, think of a goal kick as a free kick, think of 10 yards as being the penalty area. Now if a opposition player tries to stop a quick free kick or goal kick it gets retaken! Now if an opposition player purposely stands over a goal...

    tournament fees

I think the big difference here is we are comparing apples to oranges. The international events can not be compared to a local comp. I head over to the states to do the USA Cup, this costs an arm and a leg for clubs to enter but what an experience for a child, to play against international...

    tournament fees

I think its reasonable to be fairly compensated for your time regardless of the money on offer. I love reffing, I love the fitness, I don't love the constant nagging in the ear (Being light) What I charge will always depend on the level, event, and format. If i was to treat it like work i'd...

    Sin bins

Think you are confusing the LOTG with competition rules. LOTG say issue a caution for dissent but the competition rules will over rule this and say to issue a sin bin.
