What did you card an eleven year old for? I allways issue cards at youth level so it is curiosity not looking to open pandoras box!

The Referee Store
I just didn't want to start the debate of what age should we start showing cards as it turns into one of the liveliest threads and it has been dormant for a while! I was just wondering what you carded for at U11s

denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity if he was older it wouldve been red but i didnt want to discourage at that age so i opted yellow

Really?

You didn't want to discourage a player from committing a red card offence?

So the next time he does it, and the referee sends him off......he will be all confused because the last time he did it, he only got a yellow.......

its a learning curb you dont want to discourage the game allthough the tackle was red i opted yellow in the spirit of the game im doing no one any favours by sending him off the team will be down to 10 but equally the other team wont want an 11 yr old sent off either as they are STILL LEARNING
