The gist is I'm enjoying it all so far! Done my first 5 games and some now and been focussing on getting lots of different experience so done everything from U11s up to Open Age and...
In my very first game (U13) I called the captains in and the team that lost the toss chose to switch ends. Cue exasperated groans from every player and coach, I never knew walking 20 metres to swap sides was such an inconvenience. Did make me chuckle I don't think the captain really had a reason...
Oh and one last thing...how on earth do you write down names for cautions when it's 7 degrees, pouring down with rain and your fingers have turned to ice?!?!
Well thought I would come back and give a summary of my academy game today. Excitingly took place at a big professional stadium which was a treat, but wow did it feel like getting thrown in at the deep end.
