Hi @RefJef thanks for the input. My only way of describing it is just imagine seeing someone literally landing on their back after losing their footing on ice.
Sounds like I got it wrong then. He got the ball first with right foot but then clattered the lad from waist down with the momentum of his whole body just following through. It was a proper ' win the ball but take all'.
I found a lot of the questions (all multiple choice) were from the cd rom you are given when you sit the course. Don't get worrying, it's a walk in the park.
Red v White. U11's.
Red attacking on edge of area, stationary and clearly wondering whether to go round the white defender in front of him. Another white player approaches (running) from red players right shoulder. He clearly makes contact with the ball with a cracking sliding tackle but up...
Ok many thanks @xPositor.
@richard ramjane haha. No it was my son who asked. He's 10, got one hell of a kick on him but his coach likes to play it out from the back which is great with this year as they still play the retreat to half way line in U10's, so it gives the defender chance to look up...
I thought it would be unsporting behaviour and a IDFK but to be honest on the spot I hadn't got an answer as it wasn't something I thought someone would consider doing. I said I'd ask the question to the 'world of refs' as there are more experienced guys on here than me. As @GraemeS has noted...
I got asked today the following :-
keeper decides to leave the goal kick for defender to take and then stands outside his penalty area to receive the ball. Defender then takes the kick, passes it to keeper who then dribbles it back into his penalty area to pick it up so he can then take a kick...
Thanks guys. I, like every ref who uses this site am constantly reading the law of the game, and constantly looking into 'what if this situation happens, etc' but I'm constantly coming across coaches/players who seem to make up their own rules.
Correct me if I'm wrong please guys.
Ball goes out for goal kick. Keeper runs up to right hand edge of box puts ball down, goes to kick it but doesn't touch it as he's seen his right back being closed down. He picks the ball up (as I'm understanding it's still a dead ball) runs over towards...
@Phonesurgeon put the report in. If you get called up before the FA tell them as you've told us. Parents & coaches who behave like this are frowned upon and need to be dealt with harshly. How are the kids supposed to learn if they see adults behaving this way.
