Here's a letter which answers some peoples questions..... The following is a direct extract of the direction from the FA:
Dear All
Following on from the recent communication regarding the offside interpretation, please see attached the new additional guidance from The FA and IFAB.
Please...
Perhaps the referee believed the player switched shirt numbers to deceive the ref as he was on a yellow already. Therefore a caution for USB would be correct and it being his second, made it a sending off...??..... perhaps?
So..... My first pre-season match of 2015... ready to begin the match and the players enquire..... "are we playing with the new offside rule?" .......And so it begins!......
Referees should do what they think is right....... right?..... not what will give them the easiest time on the FOP.
Also..... refereeing for the sake of club marks?..... really? :/
Was the parry a save?.... or was it his choice to palm a gentle ball down rather than catch it?
if it the latter... youd be good to penalise..
if its the former.... id suggest you should play on....

So if a player is in an offside position but commit the offence in his own half, the idfk for offside is in his own half?
Pal.... I've not found an old thread of yours for any other reason but to read a thread I was interested in.... I quoted yours (could've been anyone!)...
