    #headsgone

I'm with Alex on this one and have adopted it since being AR on Welsh League being with other officials from higher levels or different experience levels also helps. I tend to coach myself through it, albeit I am far from perfect. Most Referee's will guide the AR for credibility but had a few...

    Junior/Youth Advice please

Caution the player who's standing on the ball for not being the required distance to restart play.

    Match Incident.. Broken Leg

Had a senior game last week where a player broke his leg... Won't go into the detail as it was a 50/50 challenge and sadly the one player came off a lot worse... My post is about how I now feel. Since the game I feel a bit nervous and apprehensive about being in the middle again. Not my fault I...

    I keep forgetting ...

I agree with Ryan, the Immediate welfare of an Injured player for a <normal> foul would warrant me just have a quick glance/check him over and beckon the trainer on..... then I'm heading toward the offender to deal with him. If a more serious foul I would note in my head the player involved...

Open Age Praise from the touchline

A senior local league (champions league format) game yesterday..... one very strong side another slightly weaker but in a lower divison, coming off the pitch after a long 90 mins, muddy, field cutting up, calfs screaming at me, soaking wet, freezing cold - a few close calls, a penalty desicion...

How To Avoid Being The Fly On The Wall?

It varies from league to league here in Wales, I tend to have a quick word with the home team manager after the final whistle and say "drop in to my changing room and you can have your team sheets back" i ask for a little bit of constructive feedback good/bad and we box off payment then" I have...

    Mass confrontation

Looks like you got them all, I had a MC this past weekend 2 Reds for VC one from each team. Then cue the onslaught of all players running in from every direction, only made worse by the fact it was bang on half way line and on the side of the dug outs. I had made my decision after my last...

    An interesting one...

Despite the rules... should we not be applying a little common sense here?? The responsibility is on the players... end of!! Why should it be our responsibility to check... we (referee's) follow a set of rules to kit ourselves accordingly and so they (the players) should ensure they do the same.

    Abandonment

@Padfoot without prejudice I have not "blown off" of the advice and this discussion has been a good help to me and i appreciate the time that people have taken to respond!

    How to stay consistent

Last week Our society "Aberdare Referee's" had a presentation by Mark Whitby (Welsh Premier League Referee) focused around management of the game which was fantastic and shows how to manage the game and deal with the Incidents during. I am going try to adopt a policy of "blitz" first 15 mins...

    Abandonment

The matter will be dealt with by the associations and its not for me to decide or deliberate, after speaking with a few other of my referee friends (locally) I am happy with my decicion made on the day to Abandon..... but naturally as I aim to push myself higher I can use this incident as a...

    Abandonment

Without saying too much that could get me in trouble, the abandonment was due to the nature of the violent conduct, and the total disregard the 2 individuals had for themselves, eachother and more importantly the LOTG and majority of players didnt bemian the desicion..And I felt that the...
